Air Conditioning Installation
Most homes that already have a furnace are good candidates for central air conditioning. We add a coil on top of your existing furnace and install the outdoor condenser unit, so your current ductwork does the work of moving cool air through the house.
Before each job, it is required that central AC receives a dedicated 220 volt electrical connection.
If your home doesn’t have one, you’ll need a licensed electrician to add it. You can arrange that yourself, or we can coordinate an electrician for you as a separate step. Once the 220 volt power is in place, the AC installation itself is a one-day job.

Heat Pump Installation
A heat pump both cools your home in summer and heats it in winter, which is why they’ve become the most talked-about upgrade in BC. The installation is similar to a central AC: we size the system to your home, set the outdoor unit, tie into your ductwork, and (like AC) it runs on a 220 volt connection.
Heat pumps are also where most of the current government rebates are focused, so if you’re weighing one, it’s worth checking what you qualify for before you decide.
If you’re unsure if a heat pump or central AC is a better fit for your home, we can help you decide during your free on-site consultation.

Ductless Mini-Split Installation
If your home doesn’t have ductwork, or you want to cool a specific area like an addition, a top floor, or a converted space, a ductless mini-split is often the cleanest solution. It’s a simpler install than central AC: an outdoor unit paired with one or more indoor units.
We’ll find the best spot for the indoor unit so it cools effectively and still looks right in the room, and we choose units built for efficiency and quiet operation.

Gas, Electric, or Heat Pump? How to Choose the Right System?
This is the question we get asked most, and the honest answer is that it really depends on your home, your climate exposure, and your budget.
Electric Heat Pumps
Electric heat pumps are highly efficient, they cool and heat from a single system, and they’re the technology most current BC rebates are designed to encourage. In the Lower Mainland’s relatively mild winters, a modern cold-climate heat pump handles the vast majority of the heating season comfortably. They shine for homeowners looking to reduce reliance on gas and take advantage of available incentives.
Gas Heating with AC
For some homes, keeping a gas furnace for heat and adding air conditioning for summer is the more practical setup, especially where deep cold snaps are a concern or where a home’s existing gas infrastructure is already efficient and in good shape. Gas recovers heat quickly in very cold weather, which is why some homeowners prefer to keep it as their primary heat source and simply add cooling on top.
Dual-Fuel (The Best of Both)
There’s no single “right” system for everyone. We’ll look at your home, your existing equipment, and what you’re trying to achieve, then give you a straight recommendation.
Electric heat pumps currently qualify for government rebate programs in British Columbia, and the amounts depend on the program and your eligibility. Visit fortisbc.com/rebates
AC and Heat Pump Repair
We repair air conditioning and heat pump systems as well as install them. The process is straightforward: we diagnose the issue, find the part, give you a quote, then order and complete the repair.
If your existing AC is still working and the repair is safe and reasonable, we’ll almost always recommend repairing it over replacing it. We don’t believe in handing customers a big bill they don’t need. We look to stay within your budget and keep your costs down, and we’ll only recommend replacement when it genuinely makes more sense than continuing to repair.

How Our Cooling Installs Work
1. Book an appointment. A licensed technician comes to assess your home, your square footage, and where you want the system placed.
2. Get your recommendation and quote. We tell you which system and brand suits your home, confirm whether we can install it where you’d like, and give you a clear quote for labour and equipment.
3. Sort the electrical (if needed). Central AC and heat pumps need a 220 volt connection. We’ll let you know if an electrician is required, and we can coordinate one separately if you’d like.
4. Installation. Once the power is ready, a typical AC or heat pump install is a one-day job. Ductless installs are simpler still.
5. Service and warranty. We provide yearly service and stand behind the work.
